History

Eight years after its closure, Mr. Ciriaco Relorcasa, in cooperation of Mrs. Aurora R. Encisa, the Principal of Polangui General Comprehensive High School (PGCHS), Polangui, Albay, initiated the opening of another high school and it was named Pantao Barangay High School.  It was established in 1974, with PGCHS as its mother high school.  Classes were temporarily housed at Pantao Elementary School, occupying the Marcos Type Building.

In 1988, the school was able to acquire a 5,000 square meter school site through the donation of Mr. Ciriaco Relorcasa, who was then the school head.

School Improvement was evident and remarkably rapid in 1990.  Tremendous change was notably unstoppable in terms of physical facilities, academic and administrative aspects of school operations upon the assumption of Mr. Victor A. Revale as the new administrator of the school.  Permanent classroom buildings were constructed.  During his term, this school has fourteen (14) permanent buildings, six of which are double rooms constructed through SEDP (Secondary Education Development Program) in 1994-1999, and one (1) slab-type building through a Project Care – Principal-led Building Program in 2007, and one two-storey-building with six rooms under the Local Infra Project of Congressman Fernando V, Gonzales, one covered hall, four single classroom building, under the DepEd Fund we have, one two-storey-building with four classrooms, one two-storey-building with six classrooms and one TVL building with 2 classrooms.  The PNHS Faculty Club also spearheaded an Income Generated Project, the Search for Mr. & Ms. PNHS, which is considered as an institutionalized project of the school, its proceeds went to the construction of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Pantao National High School has established two extension schools, the Rawis High School in 2003, and the Macabugos High School in 2006, through the effort of Mr. Victor A. Revale, which are now independent schools.

In November 2018, the school has a new administrator by the name of Dr. Cristobal A. Sayago.  At a very short period of time, the young and energetic Dr. Cristobal A. Sayago beautifies the school by adding landscapes, murals and pathways with the help of its stakeholders.  Another addition to its physical facilities is the construction of two-storey with four classrooms Science Building.

In 2024, Pantao National High School entered a new era with the appointment of Mrs. Hilda S. Secillano as School Principal, whose dynamic leadership led to significant advancements. Her initiatives focused on enhancing teacher engagement and professional development, promoting faculty collaboration. Mrs. Secillano also strengthened ties with parents, NGOs, and government bodies through regular meetings, fostering community collaboration and boosting school resources. As Pantao National High School continues to flourish under Mrs. Secillano's leadership, it remains committed to nurture student potential and empower them to positively impact the community.

Presently, PANTAO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, is an independent secondary school.  For its physical facilities, qualified and industrious teaching and non-teaching staff, the school can cater its Junior and Senior High School of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum specifically Academic Track: Accountancy, Business & Management Strand & General Academic Strand, TVL Track: Home Economics Strand Specialized in Bread & Pastry Production NC II, Food & Beverage Services NC II and Cookery NC II.

Pantao National High School is a developing school with high spirited, self-directed, hardworking and dedicated teaching and nonteaching staff who adhere on CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT of themselves and of the school for the benefit of our dear learners. As a secondary school, all its initiatives are geared towards holistic development of our learners, teaching and nonteaching forces including our partners- the parents and other stakeholders. The school with the planning team also takes the lead in developing the school along physical set-up to make it more conducive, child-friendly and strongly supports a positive learning atmosphere.

With a history rooted in perseverance and a future brimming with possibilities, the school stands as a testament to the transformative power of education.
